After Westboro senior Sarah Anderson sneaked a shot between Canton players for a 22-19 lead in the fourth set Saturday, senior tri-captain Samantha Kehoe strolled to the back line to serve, three points away from a Division 2 Central girls’ volleyball championship.“Everyone had worked so hard, everyone hit the floor for everything,” Kehoe said amid the celebration. “I just wanted to finish it for everyone.”Kehoe also wanted to catch the Rangers’ soccer teams at Wachusett Regional in their district finals, so when the Bulldogs couldn’t return any of the next three serves, Westboro clinched the set and their third district title in Roger Anderson’s 15 seasons as coach. And team members could expedite a happy ride to Holden. The second-seeded Rangers (20-2) avenged a loss in last year’s district semifinal to the Bulldogs, who finished 19-3 as the top seed. Set scores were 25-15, 25-21, 19-25, 25-19. Canton senior captain Avery Devoe had 18 kills, 2 blocks and an ace, sophomore Elizabeth Hamilton had 15 kills, 14 digs, and 2 aces and junior Erin Proctor had 32 assists.
