Neil O'Connor struck out 15 and allowed two earned runs and he also had an RBI triple as the No. 2 Blue Devils clinched the Midland A title with a win over the host Panthers. Marlboro cut the lead to 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh when John Rumney tripled and Cam Plank singled him in, but after the Panthers bunted Plank into scoring position, O'Connor bore down and struck out the next two batters to end the game. David Barry had a two-run double for Leominster (13-4, 7-1) in the top of the fourth. Marlboro senior Nick Keymont scattered six hits, struck out two and didn't walk a batter while giving up three earned runs. Chris Coppola was 2 for 3 with a run and John Rumney was 3 for 4 with a run and a triple for the Panthers. (9-4, 4-4).
