The Newburyport baseball team got out to a fast start in their Cape Ann League game at Amesbury, then hung on for a 5-4 win. The Clippers took an early four-run lead in the top of the first inning after Scott Webster and Dan Baribeault knocked in two runs each. The Indians came back to score two runs in the bottom of the inning. In the top of the fourth, Newburyport co-captain Caleb Stott singled and stole second, scoring on senior Ryan Furlong's double. Newburyport then held off a late rally.
