Bart Chenevert scored from the 1 with 35 seconds left to lift the visiting Pioneers (6-4) past the Panthers (4-6). Southbridge stopped Ayer-Shirley on fourth-and-1 at the Pioneers' 40 with 1:40 left, then sophomore quarterback Jason Peck went to work. He threw to Chad Lazo for 10 yards, then Jaime Ortiz for 25, then Ortiz ran 22 yards to the 3. On his second try, Chenevert scored. In his first varsity start, Peck (7 of 12, 125 yards) threw TD passes of 20 and 28 yards to Lazo. Sylvester Marshall ran for a touchdown and conversion for the Panthers.
