Sophomore Jordan Howorth sent the ball into the mix in front of the goal and sophomore Maggie Wraight swept it past Mountaineers goalie Meg Dwyer with 1:36 remaining to propel second-seeded Algonquin to the Central Mass. Division 1 title with a 1-0 win over Wachusett at Commerce Bank Field at Foley Stadium. Wraight, a recent addition to the lineup, has been starting at left attack since the regular-season finale against North Middlesex. ‘‘I knew that I just had to do all I could to get that in the net. I knew what it meant for my team,'' Wraight said. ‘‘Everyone was just trying so hard. It was such a good pass in, and I just tipped it in hoping that it would work, and it did.'' The Tomahawks will play in the Division 1 state semifinal Monday at a time and place to be determined.
