KIM CARRIGAN
'7 NEWS' AT 5, 6 and 11PM WEEKDAY ANCHOR

Kim Carrigan is co-anchor of WHDH-TV's 5, 6, and 11PM news Monday through Friday. She originally joined Channel 7 as co-anchor of the weekend newscasts in March of 1994, and was named weekday news anchor in June 1994. She came to WHDH-TV from WHO-TV in Des Moines, Iowa where she worked as a reporter and 6 & 10PM news anchor.

Carrigan began her career in broadcasting in 1985 as a weekend producer/reporter/anchor for KQ-TV in St. Joseph, Missouri, where she spent one year. She then moved to KMIZ-TV in Columbia, Missouri where she spent one year as a producer for the 10PM newscast, and reporter and anchor for the 6 & 10PM news. Carrigan spent the next three years as a reporter and anchor for KRCG-TV in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Carrigan has won numerous journalism awards during her career. In 1993, she won an Emmy Award for Best Newscast in Markets 31 and over. She received an Associated Press Award for Best Newscast in Iowa in both 1991 and 1992. In 1991, Carrigan was honored with a 1st Place News Series Award by the NBNA. The UPI awarded Carrigan in 1990 for Best Newscast in Iowa.

She received a Bachelor of Science in radio, television, and film from the University of Missouri.
