'7 NEWS' POLITICAL REPORTER

Andy Hiller joined 7 NEWS as WHDH-TV's Political Reporter in October of 1993. Andy previously worked in the Boston broadcast market as principal political reporter for WBZ-TV.

During his fifteen years at WBZ, he reported on a broad range of public policy issues and events, including health care, the environment, state budgets debates and significant legal cases. He covered four presidential campaigns and numerous gubernatorial and mayoral administrations. He also initiated major investigative reports, including stories on police corruption and nursing home malfeasance.

While at WBZ, Andy moderated the weekly political interview program, "Eyewitness News Conference," won a New England Emmy Award for his political reporting and was named "Best TV Reporter" by Boston Magazine three times.

Prior to joining WHDH-TV, Hiller was senior vice president with an international consulting firm--Robinson, Lake, Lerer, Montgomery, Sawyer/Miller group. Among the projects he worked on was the presidential campaign in Bolivia in 1993. He also developed positioning and issue management programs for the firm's clients, including NYNEX and American Express.

Andy began his reporting career at the Davenport (Iowa) Times-Democrat in 1971. From 1972-1977 he was a political reporter for WAGA-TV, the CBS affiliate in Atlanta, where he covered the gubernatorial administration and presidential campaign of Jimmy Carter.

Andy earned a Master's degree in Public Administration from Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government. He received his B.A. in government from Beloit College.
