Cathy Marshall was named co-anchor of WHDH-TV's Noon and 5:30PM news Monday through Friday. In January of 1995, she came to Channel 7 from CNN and CNN Headline News in Atlanta, Georgia where she worked as an anchor for four years.
As a studio anchor at CNN, she covered several world events live, including: the return of Jean Bertrand Aristide to Haiti; the California earthquake; the taking of the branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas; the break-up of the Soviet Union; and the U.S. mission in Somalia.
From 1985-1989 she was an anchor/reporter at WTNH-TV in Hartford/New Haven, CT. She also worked as a health specialist/noon anchor and hosted an Emmy award winning weekly health show for KIRO-TV in Seattle, Washington for two years. She began her career as a reporter/11pm anchor for KMTR-TV in Eugene, Oregon.
Marshall graduated from Oregon State University as an honors graduate with a degree in speech communications.
