Senator Scott Brown is making a personalized pitch to Springfield voters on the day he will visit their city for his third debate with Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren.

In his latest “Scott Brown from The Road” television commercial, the Republican incumbent expresses his admiration not just for the region’s largest city, but the rest of western Massachusetts.

He highlights the area’s recovery from a deadly string of tornadoes last year.

“I remember how bad it was,” Brown says in the ad, which shows video of him serving up food from a disaster relief truck. “But then something happened. People came together to help one another, and western Mass. got back on its feet.”

A statement accompanying the ad announcement points out work Brown did to help MassMutual Financial Group as Congress was crafting its Dodd-Frank financial regulatory act, as well as a regional job fair he organized.

Brown and Warren are set to debate from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Springfield’s Symphony Hall. The debate will be shown statewide on NECN and C-Span.

Their final debate will be on Oct. 30 in Boston, sponsored by a media consortium including The Boston Globe.
