Former Senator Scott Brown in negotiations to appear on Fox News
Former US Senator Scott Brown is in negotiations with Fox News to appear on the network, a spokesperson for the national network told the Globe Wednesday afternoon.
Brown, who lost his reelection bid in November, stunned the Massachusetts political world on Friday when he announced he would not run for the US Senate seat opened by John F. Kerry’s departure to become Secretary of State.
His negotiations with Fox were first reported by Politico, the political website.
Fox had announced in recent days that it is not renewing contracts with political commentators Sarah Palin and Dick Morris, but it was unclear what role Brown might have on the network. Though Brown has told several Republicans that he will be on Fox, a spokesperson said the talks are not final.
Kadant Inc., a Westford-based paper company, also announced Wednesday that Brown is joining its board of directors.
In the company press release, Brown was quoted as saying: “I am honored to have the opportunity to contribute to Kadant and learn more about the challenges of an international business. Kadant has been on the forefront of designing and manufacturing equipment to recycle and produce paper for decades. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experiences and contributing to the future direction and growth of this global leader.”
