Michael Sullivan’s Senate team adds 3 veteran GOP operatives

A longtime top aide to former senator Scott Brown has joined Republican Senate candidate Mike Sullivan’s team, the campaign announced today, along with two veterans of former governor Mitt Romney’s campaigns.

Greg Casey, who was Brown’s chief of staff in the state Senate and deputy chief of staff on Capitol Hill, will work as a campaign adviser, Sullivan aides said. Matt St. Hilaire, who the campaign said has served GOP governors dating back to former governor Paul Cellucci, will be senior campaign strategist. Owen Dorney, a deputy finance director for Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign, will be campaign finance director for Sullivan.

The announcements come as Republican operatives in Massachusetts continue to splinter among the three candidates for US Senate, who also include Cohasset investor Gabriel Gomez and state Representative Daniel P. Winslow of Norfolk. Two fellow travelers on Romney’s 2012 campaign, for instance, advance staffers Will Ritter and Charlie Pearce, now handle press for Gomez and Winslow, respectively. Leonardo Alcivar, who served briefly as campaign manager for Charles D. Baker’s 2010 gubernatorial campaign, and Gail Gitcho, a former aide to both Brown and Romney, have also hitched on with Gomez.
