This neighborhood is so understated that it's difficult to imagine the massive million-dollar oceanside homes less than a mile away. That's one reason why this smaller home is so satisfyingly simple: it offers a lot at a modest price. It is has enough room for a family of four. The living room is cozy with exposed beams, raised hearth fireplace, and stucco walls. And the open floor plan elsewhere has a modern feel, especially the kitchen, with granite countertops, pickled maple cabinets, tumbled marble backsplash, Bosch stainless appliances, and even a wine fridge.
Listing broker Claire Dembowski of Re/Max Advantage Real Estate said it is a "no muss, no fuss" house, in excellent condition, with new red oak hardwood floors, new stairs, new Pella windows, and renovated bathrooms. Rooms are painted in calming shades of taupe, smoky sky blue, and pale sage, and two bedrooms have new earthtone Berber rugs. The master bedroom includes a large walk-in closet and a master bath, which Dembowski said is "a rare commodity" at this price in Swampscott.
Outside, the home has new siding, a new front door with beveled glass and front steps made with a man-made material that requires zero maintenance. The sellers had planned to make this their dream house, until a out-of-town job offer proved irresistible. There will be an open house today, from 12-1:30.![]()
