Lakefront home full of hidden charms

This home appears rather modest at first, with a split-level entry, and a hallway that leads past two good-enough bedrooms and a bathroom with Jacuzzi. But it was gutted and expanded in 2000, and the result is three wonderful features that make this a special place.

First, is the gourmet oak kitchen with lots of cabinets and pantry space, a large Vulcan six-burner stove, and a pot hanger above the sink. "It's deceiving from the front, but the whole world opens as you enter the open room," said listing agent Marty Oldham of Keller Williams Realty.

Quiet and glass-like as the lake can be, come summer it is active with motorboats, skiing, and fishing (and winters feature skating and ice fishing).
