Jim Mushinsky

Jim Mushinsky is president of Centsable Inspection in Framingham, which provides home inspection education and business tools for home inspectors.

Jim is approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Home Inspectors as a Provider of Education, providing Massachusetts home inspection education for Home Inspectors, Realtors, and Consumers. He was formerly in home construction with Gilbert Construction and went onto Northeastern University, where he graduated cum laude with a BSEE in 1986. He was also a member of the Engineering Honor Society Tau Beta Pi.

In addition to providing education, he also provides consulting services and performs inspections with other home inspectors to meet the requirements of Massachusetts 266 CMR. He also provides software to automate home inspection report writing and contracts.

His articles and book reviews on subjects ranging from architecture to pigeon racing have appeared in such publications as the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. He has published six books and is the recipient of a Citation for Excellence in Urban Design from the American Institute of Architects.

His new book, "The Barn House: Confessions of an Urban Rehabber," which chronicles his experiences fixing up an old house in Chicago, was released on September 2, 2008.
