Advice from Jason Weissman, Founder and Principal of Boston Realty Advisors
Location advice on up and coming neighborhoods to live in.The Greater Boston area has many vibrant and exciting neighborhoods. One of which, is the Seaport District.
As one of the hottest up and coming areas in Greater Boston, the Seaport District is becoming a spectacular place to live. With the planned development of Fan Pier (a three million square foot mixed use development), the completion of the convention center, future development on McCourt land and various other projects, the Seaport District will soon be a great place to live. Future residences will prove to be the benefactors of the infrastructures improvements. Public transportation, new shops and restaurants, and potential supermarkets and movie theaters combined will create price appreciation and a high quality of life.
In addition to its geographic location on Bostons Harbor, the Seaport District has potential to be the new arts and cultural neighborhood of Boston. The area has a long standing connection with local artists, especially with the development of the International Contemporary Art Musuem.
Other notable projects in this area include the adaptive reuse of the Boston Wharf industrial real estate portfolio. Famed real estate developer, Tony Goldman, who is recognized for revitalizing South Beach, will develop two buildings into luxury condos in an extensive redevelopment.
In addition to the Seaport District, there are neighborhoods all over Eastern Massachusetts that are up and coming. A simple way to recognize the next hot neighborhood is to look for the following five trends:
1) Public investment in the neighborhood
2) Strong public transportation
4) New housing creation
5) Development of parks and/or recreational facilities
