Some inspectors will give you a checklist of all the inspected areas of the home, with the required information in succinct form. Others will give you a much longer report with photos and explanations. If you want to get more in-depth, ask the inspector if they can get as detailed as possible and attach pictures to the inspection report – but also expect the inspection fee to be larger for this type of report.

If you just want a quick checklist of all the components of the inspection and their status, request the summary form. Either way, it is important to ask the inspector what type of report you want.
