Cut the clutter
Once you have people in the front door, make sure you don't lose their interest because your house is brimming over with stuff that could easily be placed in a closet or drawer.
"It's the biggest problem I see when I go into homes," said Selby. "Clutter makes a space look smaller, and it also diverts the buyers eyes. Theyre paying attention to all the clutter thats around instead of the house."
She suggested removing small appliances from counters, as she did in the kitchen pictured, making the home appear as though it has enough storage space, and even moving out some pieces of furniture to open up the space.
