Almost 300 foreclosed Massachusetts houses went on the auction block at the Hynes Convention Center in November of 2007.

Shown here, Eli Sanchez (right), joined by friend, Chris Willis, both of Boston, came to the auction to shop for bargains, but prices on the properties they liked quickly soared out of range.
