While there were more than 1,400 foreclosures recorded in July 2011 — the highest monthly number recorded this year in Massachusetts — many towns that fared badly during 2010 have made great improvements in the market. Here are 15 towns across the state that have seen the greatest drop in foreclosure deeds — homes that actually were foreclosed by banks — versus last year. Foreclosure data from The Warren Group .
