Jamaica Plain ‘Wee Stone House’ offers scenic getaway in the city

This home, known as the “Wee Stone House,” sits amidst mature trees on a winding street in Jamaica Plain’s quiet residential section known as Moss Hill, near the Arnold Arboretum. Stone steps wind through lush landscaping to the first of several red doors. Inside is a sweeping “great room,” with fireplace, wood flooring, wood-planked ceiling, and textured plaster walls. Doors lead to a wraparound stone patio.

The updated kitchen boasts stainless-steel appliances, tile flooring, marble countertops, and penny-round ceramic backsplashes. A hallway leads to a bathroom, two bedrooms, and an office. The second floor has a grand master suite with oak floors, built-in shelving, and an office nook. The room is brightly lit with a skylight, recessed lighting, and rounded windows. The bathroom includes two sinks, a marble countertop, and a shower with glass doors. The renovated lower level includes a bathroom with a sauna and a family room. A window and glass block wall provide light and the space has its own entrance. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage plans to hold an open house 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday.
