In gourmet kitchen, lakeside setting, a respite for all seasons

With its location on the tip of a peninsula and water views out every window, it is easy to mistake this home as just a very cool summer hideaway.
Start the day with water skiing in your "backyard" - Lost Lake. Then shake off and continue your fitness routine by swimming in the Endless Pools, an indoor heated lap system located in the oversized three-season porch. Dry off and enjoy a meal in the gourmet kitchen with its abundance of Corian countertops and natural cherry cabinets, many with glass doors.
Ready to cook? Choose from the Thermador six-burner ceramic cooktop, double convection wall ovens, or flip your bacon on the Jenn-Air grill. Eat at the breakfast bar or large dining area, and gaze out at the lake through the sliding glass doors.
Afterward, take in a movie in the long narrow video room with a wall of windows and practically-on-the-lake seating (blackout shades do the trick at movie time). After a busy morning, nap in the private upper-level master bedroom, or soak in the double whirlpool tub.
But this is a year-round house, so the activities found outside the door in winter include ice fishing, skating, and cross-country skiing.
Inside the cold weather respite comes from the wood-burning stove in the kitchen and the two-sided floor-to-ceiling fieldstone fireplace in the open living-dining room.
The home also has two additional good-sized bedrooms and a finished basement that runs the length of the house.
New owners may want to update the tired rugs in many rooms. Also, the approach here is past a new huge home under construction right next door.
Listing Broker Kris Kramer of Exit Assurance Realty will hold an open house from 1 to 3 this afternoon.
