Final plans in the works for Concord project
The developers of a 350-unit apartment complex in Concord are working on final design plans and hope to start construction in the fall.
The complex will include affordable housing units and will help the town reach a state mandate for affordable housing stock. Robb Hewitt - vice president of West Concord Development, an affiliate of Trammell Crow Residential - said plans are moving forward now that the Acton Board of Appeals has approved the project.
The town of Concord approved the development during the summer, but approval was also needed from Acton because site access goes through that town.
Much of the traffic to the complex will go through Acton, so West Concord Development has agreed to pay that town $900,000 in mitigation funds toward housing and sidewalks and will reconstruct Sudbury Road.
