Butler’s pantry, turret part of Victorian’s charm
With 9-foot ceilings, refinished oak floors, and large windows, each room in this Victorian is light and airy, especially the large kitchen with its walls painted Granny Smith apple green. The cabinets are white, the counters are a mixture of oak plank and black granite. There is a granite-topped island, a chef-grade gas stove, double ovens and subway tile backsplash.
A butler’s pantry with an original brown cabinet with glass windows leads to the dining room, which has a non-working fireplace with oak mantel and ceramic tile facing. Pocket doors lead to the large living room, which has five large windows in the turreted side of the space.
The wide oak stairwell, which has carved spindles, draws light from a stained-glass window. The second-floor bath has a tub with a shower, tiled walls, and a decorative stained-glass window. The master bedroom is painted in warm yellow with brown trim, and has double closets and the turreted window space.
The remaining bedrooms are large, with oversized windows. They are painted blue-gray, or pumpkin, or celery green. Two sunny bedrooms and a full bath with a deep tub make up the third floor.
The yard has a paving stone patio and one off-street parking space. The basement is unfinished. Utilities have been upgraded in recent years, including the addition of a Buderus gas furnace and Rinnai tankless hot water system.
