Common Ground

Posted by Binyamin Appelbaum February 1, 2008 01:22 PM

Someone sharp-eyed at the Redfin blog has noticed that a South End home with an interesting history is on the market. The home was purchased for $27,000 in 1970 by Colin Diver, one of the main characters in J. Anthony Lukas's Common Ground.

The book, about the Boston busing crisis, won the Pulitzer Prize. Diver, who worked for Mayor Kevin White, is now president of Reed College in Oregon. And his old home can be yours for $2.5 million.

Oh, and you really should read Common Ground. In my view, there is no better book about modern Boston.
