Happy anniversary to me!

Posted by Rona Fischman June 19, 2008 05:57 PM

I am enjoying a Kick A** cupcake with a candle in it to celebrate. Tuday marks one year since I began writing here at Boston.com Real Estate Now. My first entry was posted at 4:49, June 20, 2007. It was about the importance of knowing your limits before entering a competitive offer situation, AKA, a bidding war.

I felt a little chagrined a week later, when interest rates went up. The long-anticipated credit crunch began shortly thereafter; However, the buyer’s market I long for continues to allude me.

Little did I know that I would be sitting here a year later, tell y’all about buyers still compelled to buy under these terrible conditions. In the immediate suburbs of Boston, there are limited choices in a number or categories of housing. In other types of housing, it is more of a buyer’s market.

My advice still stands. Have any of you made “the EBay mistake?” In any market, negotiate from an informed position where you know what steps you will make before you make them.

Le plus de choses change, le plus ils restent le même.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
