I have been walking down memory lane this week because, today, I say farewell. I have given you 1000 entries. This is the last one. I have said what I needed and wanted to say. I will continue to write at my personal blog for an audience of people interested in buying and selling real estate around Boston. My business blog will be much like this one, but the focus will be local and personal. I considered calling the new blog on "Real Estate Later," but I thought better of it.

I started writing here when this blog launched in June, 2007. I had a short break when Binyamin Appelbaum was flying solo, then I was called back to action. The mission, as I understood it, was to share advice to buyers and sellers, observe day-to-day real estate activity, and to note changes to lending and legal and other factors that affect buyers and sellers. I ran a few ongoing series, with mixed success. Among the best were the repeating summer series on Landlord-Tenant relations and the weekly guest spot reserved for Attorney Richard Vetstein and Sam Schneiderman.

There were some that started well, but got eaten by Snark Monsters. Most notably among them the "living well" series. (The comments for most of these were wiped out in "The Great Comment Wipe-out." I am glad.) My hopes for having a civil discussion about towns and locations fell to the Sirens and were dashed on the rocks. Alas, I couldn't win them all.

I hope my entries from my BREN days will endure. If you have a question, anytime, email me. I will be continuing to write, just not here anymore.

Best of luck in the places you live, be they rentals or owned properties.
