As the spring market kicks in, homes and condos across Greater Boston are selling faster than last year, new stats show.

The time on market for homes and condos in the Boston area stood at just under two months, or 55 days, reports.

That's 8 percent faster than last year, when it was up around 60. In fact, few metro markets are seeing sales happen at that pace right now in what nationally is turning out to be somewhat of a sluggish start to the spring market.

So who's faster right now?

Well San Diego at 51 day and Austin at 52 days, to name two. In Denver, homes on are the market a crazy low 25 days before selling.

And of course, there's the red hot, San Francisco, Silicon Valley tech driven market, where Google and other giants are actually getting flak from protestors angry over rising prices.

In San Jose, the average time on market is 31 days, rising to 33 in San Francisco and 38 in Seattle.

For sellers, this is good news, but not so much for buyers.
