Lance Armstrong honorary degree revoked by Tufts

Tufts University has revoked an honorary degree awarded in 2006 to disgraced former cycling champion Lance Armstrong.
Armstrong, who gave the commencement address at the school that year, was recently stripped of his seven Tour de France titles after the US Anti-Doping Agency released a report that concluded the cyclist was at the center of a doping operation. The International Cycling Union endorsed USADA’s findings.
The revocation of the Tufts degree is just the latest loss for Armstrong, who has lost multiple endorsements and has even stepped away from the Livestrong Foundation he helped create to fight cancer.
Kimberly M. Thurler, director of public relations at Tufts, told the Weekly Standard that Armstrong’s “actions as an athlete are inconsistent with the values of Tufts University.”
