Overtime fits Pacers just fine
They win sixth straight as Raptors fall short
Ron Artest shut down Vince Carter in the fourth quarter and the host Indiana Pacers scored the first 8 points of overtime to win their sixth straight game, 94-84, over the Toronto Raptors last night in Miami.
Jamaal Tinsley opened the extra period with a 3-pointer, Jermaine O'Neal hit a jumper, and Reggie Miller added a deep 3-pointer as the shot clock was winding down to give Indiana an 89-81 lead.
Artest led Indiana with 23 points, and O'Neal finished with 20 points and 18 rebounds.
Carter led Toronto with 28 points, but managed just 1 point after the third quarter.
Grizzlies 94, Spurs 88 -- Pau Gasol scored 27 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, and host Memphis defeated San Antonio for its sixth straight win.
Timberwolves 105, SuperSonics 92 -- Latrell Sprewell emerged from a shooting slump to score 31 points, and visiting Minnesota dumped Seattle.
Kings 96, Warriors 92 -- Doug Christie (23 points), Mike Bibby (21), and Peja Stojakovic (20) accounted for two-thirds of host Sacramento's offense in its victory over Golden State.
Heat 100, Magic 89 -- Reserve Rashaul Butler scored 19 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter, and Eddie Jones also scored 19 for Miami in its victory over visiting Orlando.
Rockets 90, Clippers 85 -- Steve Francis had 24 points and Yao Ming scored 8 of his 19 points in a fourth-quarter rally in host Houston's victory over Los Angeles.
Nuggets 117, Wizards 87 -- In Washington, Voshon Lenard scored 27 points and rookie Carmelo Anthony had 26 to lead Denver.
76ers 89, Bulls 81 -- Kenny Thomas had 22 points and 13 rebounds and Aaron McKie added 21 points for visiting Philadelphia.
