Jason Delaney homered and had three hits and Mike Wlodarczyk went the distance in pitching Boston College to a 6-2 win over Northeastern last night in the Beanpot Tournament championship game at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton.
Josh DiScipio and Garrett Greer each added two hits for BC, which took advantage of five NU errors.
Wlodarczyk allowed seven hits and two runs in nine innings, striking out five and walking three.
Jim Madison started for NU, allowing 10 hits and five runs -- three earned -- in 6 2/3 innings. He struck out six but walked three.
In the consolation game, Zak Farkes capped a 2-for-3 day with a three-run, walkoff home run in the bottom of the seventh inning as Harvard downed the University of Massachusetts, 7-4.
The Minutemen, trailing 4-2, tied the game at 4 in the top of the seventh, scoring two runs off reliever Trey Hendricks. With one out in the inning and a man on first after an error, UMass got back-to-back RBI doubles by Frank Curreri and Matt Reynolds to tie it.
Harvard starter Javier Castellanos gave up five hits and failed to get out of the first, but freshman Jay Brown came in and threw 2 1/3 innings of no-hit relief.![]()
