Team effort rallies Sun

WASHINGTON -- Wendy Palmer had 21 points and 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season, leading the Connecticut Sun to a 72-63 win over the Washington Mystics last night.

Lindsay Whalen added a career-high 13 points for the Sun (3-2), who won their third straight.

Taj McWilliams-Franklin finished with 12 points and nine rebounds, and Katie Douglas added 10 points for Connecticut.

Chamique Holdsclaw scored a game-high 25 points for the Mystics (2-4). Rookie Alana Beard, who started at point guard for the second straight game in place of the injured Tamicha Jackson, chipped in 13 points.

Playing on the road for the first time this season, Connecticut trailed by as many as 13 in the first half but rallied behind Palmer.
