Wizards top Earthquakes

Jack Jewsbury's goal in injury time gave Kansas City a 3-0 win over the visiting San Jose Earthquakes last night, sending the Wizards to the Western Conference final with a 3-2 victory in the home-and-home, total-goals series.

After losing, 2-0, to the Earthquakes last Sunday, Kansas City appeared to have at least forced overtime when it led, 2-0, late in the second half of the rematch.

Then, in the second minute of injury time, Jewsbury got a pass from Igor Simutenkov just outside the penalty area and shot it in.

Galaxy 2, Rapids 0 -- Carlos Ruiz scored in the 30th minute, and Tyler Marshall added the series-deciding goal as host Los Angeles beat Colorado to advance to the Western Conference final against Kansas City with a 2-1 series total.

United 2, MetroStars -- Jaime Moreno and Bryan Namoff scored late in the second half to help D.C. United beat visiting New York/New Jersey and advance to the Eastern Conference final with a 4-0 series total.
