BALTIMORE -- The Cannons enjoyed a couple firsts last night.
Behind Mark Millon's league-record 14 points, the Cannons (8-2) handed the Baltimore Bayhawks their first loss of the season.
Millon became the first Major League Lacrosse player to register more than 12 points in a game, scoring nine goals and adding five assists in the Cannons' 25-13 victory over Baltimore (9-1) before 6,071 fans at Johnny Unitas Stadium. Millon set the previous record as a member of the Bayhawks in 2003.
''It feels real good to get this win" said Cannons head coach Scott Hiller. ''We're really gaining momentum, which is key to winning a championship."
Kevin Leveille also scored nine times, tying Millon for the league mark. The Cannons limited Baltimore star Gary Gait to one assist, ending his 37-game goal-scoring streak.![]()
