Celtics star Paul Pierce raised more than $250,000 in the first 18 months after he created his Truth Fund in 2002. During that period, the foundation spent more than $100,000 on administration and fund-raising but gave nothing to charity, according to its IRS returns for 2002 and 2003. Jaymee Messler, a member of Pierce's management firm, did not make available Pierce's IRS return for 2004 but listed contributions totaling $244,000 that Pierce or his foundation have made in the Boston area since 1998.
