Nate Jaqua and C.J. Brown scored to help the Chicago Fire beat the Crew, 2-1, last night in Columbus, Ohio.
Jaqua stepped into a low crossing pass from Justin Mapp and banked the ball off the inside of the right goal post for his seventh goal of the year in the 40th minute.
The Fire (10-8-8) doubled their lead in first-half stoppage time when Brown scored his first goal in 201 league games by getting his head on a looping pass from Chris Armas, deflecting the ball past Crew goalkeeper Bill Gaudette.
Crew midfielder Sebastian Rozental scored on a penalty kick in the 72d minute to make it 2-1. Referee Ramon Hernandez signaled for the penalty after Jaqua handled the ball inside the Fire penalty area.
Wizards 4, Rapids 1 -- Davy Arnaud scored two goals and host Kansas City beat Colorado.
Scott Sealy scored for the Wizards just 36 seconds into the game when he knocked home a rebound of a shot by Alex Zotinca that Rapids goalkeeper Joe Cannon saved but couldn't control. It was the second-fastest score in Wizards history. Arnaud scored 33 seconds into a game in 2003.
Chivas USA 1, FC Dallas 1 -- Juan Pablo Garcia scored in the 81st minute to lift Chivas USA to a tie with FC Dallas in Carson, Calif.
Kenny Cooper scored 10 minutes into the second half to give FC Dallas a 1-0 lead. FC Dallas (14-8-4) extended its lead over second-place Houston to 12 points.
Real Salt Lake 1, D.C. United 1 -- Freddy Adu scored on a free kick, but Chris Klein responded with a second-half goal to lift Real Salt Lake to a tie in Washington.
