Mavericks run away with 13th straight

Dirk Nowitzki had 23 points and 14 rebounds and Josh Howard bounced back from a sprained ankle suffered the night before to lead the Dallas Mavericks to their 13th straight victory, 91-65, over the Timberwolves in Minneapolis last night.

Howard had 17 points. Jason Terry added 18 points and seven assists for Dallas, which improved to a league-best 48-9. The Mavericks, who never trailed, are 11-0 on the second night of back-to-back games.

Kevin Garnett led the lethargic Timberwolves with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Ricky Davis scored 15 points, and Mark Blount added 10 points. They shot a franchise-worst 29.6 percent from the field (24 for 81).

Suns 103, Pacers 92 -- Steve Nash had 25 points and 11 assists and Phoenix rallied from 18 points down in the third quarter to beat host Indiana.

The Pacers led, 77-59, with five minutes left in the third period but managed only one more basket the rest of the quarter and just five baskets in the first 10 minutes of the fourth quarter.

Nets 113, Wizards 101 -- Jason Kidd had 26 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds and host New Jersey won its third straight game with a victory over injury-ravaged Washington.

Gilbert Arenas had 26 points on 7-of-25 shooting for the Wizards, who played without All-Star forward Caron Butler (back spasms) for the second straight game and Antawn Jamison, who has been sidelined with a knee injury since late January.

Cavaliers 97, Hornets 89 -- In Cleveland, LeBron James scored 35 points, hitting two 3-pointers in the last minute to finally put New Orleans away.

The Cavs outscored the Hornets, 11-6, over the final four minutes.

Bucks 122, Warriors 101 -- Michael Redd scored 31 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead the Bucks over the visiting Warriors.
