Crew prolong streak

Guillermo Barros Schelotto scored on a penalty kick and the host Columbus Crew extended their unbeaten streak to six games with a 2-0 win over Real Salt Lake last night.

Eddie Gaven added a goal in the 80th minute to give Columbus (5-4-7) four wins and two ties in its past six games. Salt Lake (1-7-6) has a league-worst 9 points.

Referee Alex Prus awarded the penalty kick after Salt Lake defender Ritchie Kotschau brought down Andy Herron inside the penalty area in the 75th minute.

Toronto FC 1, Fire 1 -- Maurice Edu scored his third goal of the season in the 78th minute as Toronto (5-7-3) earned a point in Bridgeview, Ill. Chad Barrett scored on a penalty kick for Chicago (4-7-4), the Fire's first goal in 286 minutes and their first shot on goal in 163 minutes.

Galaxy 2, Wizards 2 -- Cobi Jones scored twice in the second half as host Los Angeles (3-5-4) rallied to tie Kansas City (6-5-4).

Copa America -- Diego Forlan scored twice for Uruguay, which advanced to a semifinal Tuesday against Brazil by routing host Venezuela, 4-1, in San Cristobal.

Robinho scored twice for Brazil, a 6-1 winner over Chile at Puerto La Cruz.
