Harvard clinches a share

Emily Tay and Katie Rollins each scored 12 points to lift the Harvard women over Brown, 68-47, last night in Providence to give coach Kathy Delaney-Smith her 400th career victory and a share of the Ivy League title.

The Crimson, now 18-9 and 11-2, can win the title outright and earn the NCAA Tournament berth with a victory over Yale tonight.

Sadiea Williams had 11 points and Ashley Alexander added 10 points to lead Brown, which fell to 2-25 and 1-12.

Atlantic 10 - Nikki Oakland had 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead Dayton past UMass-Amherst, 57-51, in the first round in Philadelphia.

Northeast-10 - Sixth-seeded Bryant pulled off an upset of second-seeded Franklin Pierce, 78-65, in Rindge, N.H., to earn a trip to the tournament championship for the first time since 1988-89. Bryant (20-10) was led by Cara Johnson's 21 points and Kelsey O'Keefe's 20. Johannah Leedham had a game-high 30 for Franklin Pierce (24-5) . . . Kelsey Simonds took the reins in the second half, scoring 14 points, as top-seeded Stonehill (25-4) edged Bentley (19-10), 53-51, in Easton.

NCAA Division 3 - Jakoya Wilkins scored 9 points in the final six minutes to lift Salem State over Marymount, 73-63, in Allentown, Pa. Wilkins finished with 15 points for the Vikings (22-6). The Saints finished at 23-6 . . . Brenlyn Campbell scored a career-high 32 points and 11 rebounds as The College at Brockport stopped Emmanuel, 68-64 in Geneva, N.Y. . . . Jaime Capra's 25 points led Brandeis (19-7) over Southern Maine (25-4), 74-71 . . . Khalilah Ummah had 24 points to lead Tufts (24-3) over Wheaton (22-7), 71-67, in Newburgh, N.Y. . . . Alexa Kaubris sparked Bowdoin (19-8) over host Bridgewater State (22-5), 64-49.

SEC - Candace Parker scored 26 points and No. 3 Tennessee beat Florida, 92-61, in Nashville, to reach the semifinals of the Southeastern Conference tournament . . . Quianna Chaney scored 17 points and No. 7 LSU beat Mississippi, 80-36. The top-seeded Lady Tigers (26-4) are trying to reach the championship game for the fourth consecutive season.

Men
Brown 78, Harvard 62
- Damon Huffman scored 19 points and Peter Sullivan added 18 as the Bears held off the Crimson for their ninth victory in the last 10 games and a school-record 18th win. Brown (18-0, 10-3 Ivy League) survived Harvard's comeback, when the Crimson cut a 13-point deficit to 2 midway through the second half. The Crimson, led by Evan Harris's 16 points, fell to 8-21 and 3-10.

Yale 50, Dartmouth 48 - Eric Flato's decisive 3-pointer with 1:50 remaining gave the Bulldogs (12-15, 6-7 Ivy) the victory over the host Big Green (10-17, 3-10).

NCAA Division 3 - Florian Rexhepi came off the bench to score 19 points as Brandeis downed Lasell, 80-59, in Waltham . . . Ton Ton Balenga scored a career-high 31 points to lift Virginia Wesleyan to a first-round victory over WPI, 80-75, in Collegeville, Pa. WPI (21-7) was led by Antoine Coleman's 24 points and Jim Marois's 18. Virginia Wesleyan (23-6) got 16 points from Tyler Fantin . . . Tirrell Hill hit two free throws with 1.0 seconds left to lead Rhode Island College over Nazareth, 77-73, in Pomona, N.J.

America East - Ricky Lucas had 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals in a play-in game to lead Stony Brook to a 73-65 overtime win over Maine in Vestal, N.Y., for a spot in the tournament quarterfinals.

Drake 68, Indiana State 46 - Adam Emmenecker had 13 points and 10 rebounds for his first career double-double and the No. 20 Bulldogs beat the Sycamores in the quarterfinals of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament in St. Louis.
