Despite the odds weighing heavily in favor of the Fighting Sioux, Princeton poured on the offensive pressure, peppering North Dakota goalie Jean-Philippe Lamoureaux with 39 shots. But Lamoureaux was stunning in net (38 saves) and Ryan Duncan chipped in with a natural hat trick to give the Fighting Sioux a 5-1 win in yesterday's Midwest Regional semifinal in Madison, Wis.

Princeton was riding a school-record 21 wins and only its second-ever ECAC tournament title and second-ever NCAA bid into yesterday’s matchup against top seed North Dakota.

The Fighting Sioux made the best of their scoring opportunities, firing only 18 shots on Princeton goalie Zane Kalemba. Andrew Kozek and Chay Genoway also scored for North Dakota (27-10-4), which advances to the Midwest final today against Wisconsin.

Wisconsin 6, Denver 2 - Michael Davies scored two goals for Wisconsin in the Badgers' first tournament game since they won the 2006 title.

Jamie McBain, Cody Goloubef, John Mitchell, and Davis Drewiske also scored for Wisconsin (16-16-7), the fourth team ever to enter the NCAA Tournament with a losing record.

East Regional
Michigan 2, Clarkson 0 - Kevin Porter had a goal and an assist and Aaron Palushaj added a powerplay goal as the Wolverines blanked the Golden Knights in Albany, N.Y.

Michigan will face Notre Dame in the Frozen Four semifinals April 10.

West Regional
Notre Dame 3, Michigan State 1 - In Colorado Springs, Mark Van Guilder broke a tie with 5:54 left, and Teddy Ruth scored 1:14 later to lead Notre Dame past defending national champion Michigan State and into its first Frozen Four.

Jordan Pearce made 20 saves for Notre Dame (26-15-4).
