For the second year in a row, the Angels appear to have landed the biggest free agent name available on the market.
Outfielder Josh Hamilton agreed to a five-year deal worth $125 million, ESPN reported. He is poised to join a lineup that already includes Albert Pujols and MVP runner-up Mike Trout.
Hamilton met with the Red Sox earlier this month and was also said to be in negotiations with the Rangers (for whom Hamilton played the past five years) and Mariners.
The 2010 AL MVP, Hamilton, 31, has 161 career home runs, including 100 over the past three years.
