Sports Log: Nebraska coach Bo Pelini comes under fire for comments

Hours after Bo Pelini fired back at criticism from former Nebraska great Tommie Frazier, he had to apologize for a profane rant in which he criticized ‘‘fair-weather’’ Cornhuskers fans. The sports website Deadspin.com on Monday posted the two-year-old audio of the Cornhuskers’ coach going off on fans after a game. After Frazier ripped Pelini’s staff following Saturday’s 41-21 loss to UCLA, Pelini said, “if he feels like that so be it. We don’t need him.” But after Deadspin posted his rant two years ago, Nebraska chancellor Harvey Perlman weighed in, saying, ‘‘I’m aware of it and I’m disappointed.
