A fan was ejected and charged with disorderly conduct after throwing an object at Barry Bonds during the Cubs-Giants game. The object, which resembled a toothpaste tube, landed a few feet in front of Bonds and was removed by a security guard. Bonds was 1 for 3 with two walks, extending his homerless streak to 12 games -- the longest he has gone into a season without an HR when healthy since 1998.

The Mets' Pedro Martínez improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2002 when he opened the season 7-0 for the Red Sox.
