Yankees center fielder Johnny Damon (back) didn't start last night against Texas but expects to return to the lineup this week. Damon flew to Florida Sunday for several sessions with his chiropractor and said he felt better but he sat out as a precaution.

The Royals' Billy Butler made his major league debut, playing left field, and he singled in his first at-bat against the Angels. The White Sox purchased the contract of Luis Terrero from Triple A, and the center fielder homered in his debut with the team against the Mariners.
