NEW YORK (Reuters) - The New York Yankees ended a three-game losing streak with a 7-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday, though they could be without third baseman Alex Rodriguez who strained a right quadricep muscle.

Rodriguez sustained the injury while reaching first base in the sixth inning and then left the game. The Yankees said his playing condition was day-to-day.

"It's a little sore, a little tight," Rodriguez told reporters. "Any time you have any type of feeling, you have some concern."

He said he would undergo treatment on Monday and then determine his status.

"We'll evaluate him on Tuesday," said Yankees manager Joe Girardi.

"We'll just have to wait and see. The fact that we took him out, we just didn't want him to hurt it any worse. Originally, he thought it was a cramp."

Before leaving the game, Rodriguez drove in a run with a fourth-inning double before scoring on Hideki Matsui's double to help end Baltimore's three-game winning streak.

Andy Pettitte (3-1) took the victory.

The left-hander had a perfect game through four and two-thirds innings, retiring the first 14 batters he faced, before Joe Payton hit an infield single.

"I knew that I hadn't given up a hit," said Pettitte.

"I really didn't think about it very much because I didn't think there was any way I could throw a no-hitter, because I don't think I can throw a no-hitter. ... I just assume somebody's going to get a hit off me."

He allowed four hits, struck out five and walked none in seven innings.

Derek Jeter drove in three runs and Johnny Damon hit a two-run homer to spark the Yankees' 10-hit effort.

Damon's homer came in the seventh inning. Jeter delivered a three-run double in the ninth to complete the scoring.
