Nelson Cruz and Ian Kinsler each hit two-run homers and the Texas Rangers again roughed up Toronto ace Roy Halladay, beating the Blue Jays, 5-4, last night in Toronto.
The Rangers won on the road for the first time in four tries and have won back-to-back games after losing seven of their previous eight.
Halladay (3-1) gave up five runs and eight hits in eight innings, walking none and striking out nine. Five of the eight hits he surrendered were for extra bases.
In 20 career games against Texas, Halladay is 7-7 with a 5.36 ERA, his highest against any AL opponent. He lost his only start against the Rangers in 2008, giving up four runs and 11 hits in nine innings.
The winner was righthander Brandon McCarthy (2-0), who gave up three runs and six hits in six innings. He walked two and struck out two.

Sizemore connected in the fourth as the Indians built a 6-1 lead, but it was the six double-play balls that saved the day for the Tribe.
Phillies 11, Brewers 4 - Pedro Feliz homered and drove in three runs, Jamie Moyer pitched six-plus effective innings, and host Philadelphia beat Milwaukee.
Ryan Braun had a career-high five hits, including two homers, for the Brewers in a rematch of last year's NL first-round playoff series won by the Phillies.
Mariners 4, Rays 2 - Jarrod Washburn tossed seven strong innings to continue his strong start, catcher Rob Johnson had a two-run triple and host Seattle beat Tampa Bay.
Giants 8, Padres 3 - Edgar Renteria hit a grand slam off Jake Peavy and matched his career high with five RBIs, leading host San Francisco over San Diego.
Pirates 3, Marlins 2 - Jeff Karstens pitched six sharp innings, Freddy Sanchez homered, and Pittsburgh beat visiting Florida.
Nationals 4, Braves 3 - Adam Dunn homered, Washington's beleaguered relievers tossed three scoreless innings for the second day in a row, and the Nationals beat visiting Atlanta for their second consecutive victory.
Orioles 10, White Sox 3 - Brad Bergesen allowed one earned run in his major league debut, Aubrey Huff homered twice, and host Baltimore beat Chicago to end a five-game losing streak.
Cardinals 6, Mets 4 - Rick Ankiel hit a go-ahead RBI double after Daniel Murphy misplayed Brendan Ryan's liner to left field for a triple, and St. Louis rallied from four runs down to beat visiting New York.
Cubs 7, Reds 2 - Rookie Micah Hoffpauir homered and hit a tiebreaking sacrifice fly, Rich Harden pitched six strong innings and host Chicago beat Cincinnati.
Astros 8, Dodgers 5 - Carlos Lee hit a two-run homer, Russ Ortiz pitched well after a rough first inning and host Houston ended Los Angeles's eight-game winning streak.
Angels 4, Tigers 3 - Torii Hunter tied the game with a solo homer and scored the go-ahead run on Gary Matthews Jr.'s two-out double in the eighth inning, helping Los Angeles beat visiting Detroit .
Rockies 9, Diamondbacks 6 - Todd Helton broke out of a slump with three hits, including his first homer, and drove in three runs as Colorado rallied in Phoenix.![]()
