■Shortstop Alcides Escobar, the only Royals player to appear in all 99 games this season, left in the sixth inning because of a bruised right shin suffered trying to turn a double play. He is day to day.
■All-Star left fielder Ryan Braun was out of the Brewers’ starting lineup to rest his lingering left calf strain.
■The Braves’ Dan Uggla hit his 18th homer of the season, extending his hitting streak to a career-high 13 games.
