The Yaz family craft
Stan Grossfeld/Globe Staff
Someday in the distant future, there might just be another Yaz in the Red Sox outfield. In the 36th round of the 2009 MLB First-Year Player Draft, the Red Sox selected outfielder Michael Yastrzemski, who was attending St. John's Prep (Danvers) and now plays for Vanderbilt University. He's the grandson of Red Sox icon and Baseball Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski.
Shortly after the draft, the Boston Globe's Stan Grossfeld caught up with grandfather Carl and grandson Mike at DB's Baseball and Softball Instructional Academy.
Check out these photos of Yaz and his grandson.
