Tom Glavine, a native of Billerica, will have his uniform number 47 retired by the Atlanta Braves and be inducted into the team's hall of fame at a ceremony later this summer. The left-hander spent 17 seasons with the Braves and five with the Mets, amassing 305 victories and a career ERA of 3.54.
He signed a one-year deal in November of 2007 that allowed him to complete his career with the Braves, and was intriduced by GM Frank Wren (center) and manager Bobby Cox.
He now works as a Braves broadcaster and special assistant to the team president.
