Louisville 1, Pawtucket 0

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Luis Lopez scored from second on a single by Dane Sardinha in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift Louisville to a 1-0 win over Pawtucket on Thursday night in the International League.

Louisville starter Elizardo Ramirez scattered four Pawtucket hits and struck out five in seven innings of work. Reliever Ricky Stone (1-1) shut out the Red Sox in the eighth and ninth to earn the win.

Pawtucket starter Jeremi Gonzalez matched Ramirez inning for inning, holding the Bats scoreless through seven. Red Sox reliever Chris Narveson (1-1) entered in the eighth and yielded a lead-off walk to Lopez. A.J. Zapp bunted to get Lopez to second.

Sardinha followed with a one-out single to right. Lopez held up at third base, then streaked home when Pawtucket right fielder Justin Sherrod mishandled the ball.

The Bats hadn't scored a run in their last 14 innings before Lopez crossed the plate.
