Can Red Sox win a wild card playoff spot?

Tigers (61-55)
In a tight race for the AL Central title, the Tigers currently are on the outside looking in on the playoff picture. The Tigers have two of the top three hitting leaders—Miguel Cabrera and Austin Jackson—and last year's MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander. The team batting average ranks fourth and team ERA is eighth in the American League. Victor Martinez could be an upgrade in September if he can return from knee surgery.
